Occupying the empty centre: a PhD candidate as third-party facilitator in the participatory design of a data space for circular construction
Talk at the “Inter-organisational collectives and societal challenges” (CIO-DS) working group of the Association Internationale de Management Stratégique (AIMS), on 17 November 2026 at IAE Paris-Est Créteil.

Multiway: fifteen architects of a third digital way
Design of a programme of three one-week residencies bringing together fifteen architect-entrepreneurs, five from India, five from Europe, five from the Global South, the same group from beginning to end. That continuity is the point: taking the time to get to know and trust one another, then converging, through multilateral work, on a shared vision and a first implementation of a digital “third way”, at once unified and plural.
The means: pooling ideas, protocols, code and practices, articulating their complementarities while respecting their specificities.
My role: Design of the programme, with its partners.

SUPERstack: NextGraph in the European Open Internet Stack
The SUPERstack coalition (Sovereign Universal Platform for European Resilience), which brings together European open-source communities, projects and companies, has been selected by the European Commission under the Open Internet Stack initiative (Horizon Europe): €29 million across four strands, operating systems and firmware (SuperFOSS), applications and app stores (SuperAPPS), security (SuperSAFE), and the ELFA suite built on NextGraph.
Kick-off at FOSDEM, Brussels, on 28 January 2027.
My role: An early contributor to NextGraph, I took part in shaping its vision; I am now its ambassador.
- Thesis
First version of the PhD manuscript delivered
Delivery of the first complete version of the manuscript: “Peer-to-peer networks facing systemic entropy. The participatory design of a Local-first Data Space for circular construction” (ADEME / UTT / Data Players thesis, defence expected in early 2027).

Member of the GS1 France standardisation committee
I join the GS1 France standardisation committee, bringing to its members my work on the circular economy and data spaces.
My role: Committee member.

A third digital way between India and Europe
Writing begins on the report “Strategies for a third digital way in India and Europe”, commissioned by the Forum d’Action Modernités, a foundation chaired by Philippe Lemoine. Publication expected in autumn 2026.
My role: Author of the report.

Reuse joins the Building Data X data space
The reuse use case, and with it the first results of my thesis (diagnosis, reuse protocol, reverse marketplace), joins Building Data X, the data space project for the construction sector carried by a consortium led by Orange and facilitated by the Caisse des Dépôts.
The cooperative SCIC Elinor joins the consortium’s board.
My role: Initiator of, and contributor to, the reuse use case.

ELFA: an encrypted, local-first collaborative suite funded by Horizon Europe
The ELFA consortium (Encrypted Local-First Architecture), coordinated by the NLnet foundation, has been selected by the European Commission under Horizon Europe: €3 million over three years to build a free, self-hostable, federated and end-to-end encrypted suite of applications that works offline (documents, spreadsheets, email, calendar, chat, video calls…).
NextGraph is its engine: its encrypted synchronisation protocol for local-first data underpins the whole suite.
My role: An early contributor to NextGraph, I took part in shaping its vision; I am now its ambassador.
